Very true

Some media get it right:

"Anti-royal sentiments have always existed. But they are shallow and transient - although they can be whipped up and exaggerated by those wishing to advance their own agendas; some ideological or political, some simply commercial."

Does anyone know, where this perception comes from?

In Europe it started with the Renaissance and idea of uncontrolled personal liberty. However, republicanism became a runaway train after the french revolution and american independence. It became constrained once again during the 19th century in the Victorian era. The latest trend of republicanism spread out of control with the emergence of two towers of babylon(usa and ussr) after two WW(s) decimated all influance of great European Monarchies.
